Symptoms
A herniated disc is not to be taken lightly. It comes
as a surprise that many people are already suffering from a herniated disc but
do not know it. The symptoms often vary since it will depend on where the
affected disc is located. Most commonly, the symptoms are often felt at the
back and the neck.
We will know if we are suffering from a herniated disc
when we feel:
- Arm pain – results when the herniated disc is in your neck
- Weakness – muscles near the affected disc will weaken
- Numbness or tingling – affected nerves will experience tingling or numbness
- Leg pain – intense pain is felt in the buttocks, thigh and leg when the affected disc is at the lower back
Disc degeneration is the most often cause of a
herniated disc. This happens as we age. Spinal discs lose water content and as
a result, they become less flexible and more prone to tearing or rupturing.
Treatment
When you feel any or a combination of these symptoms,
visit a doctor immediately. Do not allow it to become worse. You can also visit
a chiropractor. A chiropractor is medical doctor specializing in bone problems.
Chiropractors will use x-ray and MRI to properly diagnose a herniated disc.
Experienced chiropractors at ChiroCarolina in Charlotte NC are more than capable of treating this condition. They will be
able to relieve the pain and provide a treatment program.
